Traditional Food in Denmark

Hi guys :)

Today I would like to talk about traditional food in Denmark. It is really different than in France. For sure, because we are the best cook in the world :D
Foreigners love our gastronomy, maybe it's the only thing they like about France!

For breakfast, most often it is a coffee with bread or rolls with cheese or jam. They eat their bread with cream cheese, sausage, meat or jam.

They like eating sandwiches or sliced bread for lunch because they do not have much time to eat in the middle of the day. It is usually a cold meal with cold meat, sliced sausage or boiled eggs. It's called open sandwiches.

For the dinner, it's the only time where everyone in the family can be together to share a meal. It's usually a meat dish with some vegetables or salad. The dessert is sometimes ice cream or a fruit dish.

In my opinion, Danish food is tasteless and there isn't much variety. It's difficult to find the kind of food that we eat regulary in France such as French beans or peas. The meat is expensive.

So if you want to have a great meal, it’s expensive and it’s not so easy with our student budget !

See you later !

Hi guys!

Last weekend, we went on a trip to Aarhus, the second biggest city in Denmark. It was awesome!

We visited the ARoS Museum. For only 90 DKK (around 12€) you can visit the whole museum and stay in there for how long you want.

We stayed in there around 3 hours. It's enough to see everything but you can stay longer if you prefer to appreciate every work of art.

In this museum, there are 8 levels, in each level there is a different atmosphere. The first one is called "Out Of The Darkness", in each room, there is no outside light only neon light. The other room in this level, was like a horror museum with strange sculptures and pictures, there are a lot of skulls or some jars containing meat in formalin...

After a door, we found in a totally smoky room with rainbow neon light. It was really weird, but really nice actually! (You can find the pictures in our gallery!)

On the other level, it was a big room with a lot of abstract paintings and another room with realistic paintings with some flowers or portraits.

One of the best spaces in ARoS is the panorama. While high on the building, there is something like a glass path, all around the building it's like a rainbow glass, so we had a really beautiful view of Aarhus. I think it's something you have to see if you come into this city.

Then in the other levels, we saw a really big sculpture of a boy, 4,5 meters and 500 kg (a really big boy and his eyes followed us everywhere!).

Near the boy, a big room called "9 things strange to see in this way". This big room is separated into 9 small rooms, in each had a different atmosphere, in one, we found a little house where it was like a storm with lightning, rain and thunder. In another room, there is a carousel, each character here played a different music. There is already a room with the "Killing machine", rather disturbing...

The last room we visited was a room with loudspeakers in a circle. When you are in the center, we heard a beautiful classical music, but when we get closer to a speaker, we hear only one voice. It was awesome.

To conclude, the ARoS museum is really a place to visit if you go to Aarhus!

See you later!

Claire.
